AI Advisors are conversational AI assistants specialized in different aspects of agricultural operations. They have access to your farm's knowledge base and can provide contextual, personalized recommendations.

How Advisors Work

Advisors combine large language model capabilities with your operational data:

  1. Conversation - You chat naturally, asking questions or describing situations
  2. Context retrieval - The advisor pulls relevant data from your knowledge base
  3. Reasoning - The AI considers your specific context, location, and history
  4. Response - You receive actionable insights tailored to your operation

Available Advisors

General Farm Advisor

Your all-purpose agricultural assistant. Great for:

  • General farming questions
  • Cross-cutting operational decisions
  • Getting started when you're not sure which specialist to ask

Crop Advisor

Specialized in crop production, including:

  • Planting decisions and timing
  • Pest and disease identification
  • Nutrient management
  • Irrigation scheduling
  • Harvest planning

Cattle Health Advisor

Expert in livestock health management:

  • Symptom analysis and diagnosis suggestions
  • Treatment protocols
  • Vaccination schedules

Starting a Conversation

From the Advisors Page

  1. Navigate to Advisors from the sidebar
  2. Browse available advisors or search
  3. Click on an advisor to start chatting
  4. Type your question or describe your situation

From Context

You can also launch advisors from relevant contexts:

  • From a field - Opens Crop Advisor with that field's context
  • From equipment - Opens Equipment Advisor with that unit's history
  • From a capture - Opens relevant advisor based on capture content

Effective Conversations

Be Specific

Instead of:

"What should I spray?"

Try:

"I'm seeing what looks like gray leaf spot on my corn in the north field. It's about 10% of the canopy. What fungicide options do I have, and what's the economic threshold?"

Provide Context

The advisor can see your knowledge base, but explicit context helps:

"Looking at my 2024 soil tests for the Miller farm, should I adjust my nitrogen program for corn?"

Ask Follow-ups

Advisors maintain conversation context, so you can drill down:

  1. "What's the spray window look like this week?"
  2. "What about Thursday specifically?"
  3. "If I add glyphosate to the tank mix, any concerns?"

Limitations

Advisors cannot:

  • Access data from other organizations
  • Make changes to your records (yet)
  • Execute workflows or automation
  • Access real-time sensor data (coming soon)

Conversation History

All advisor conversations are saved and searchable:

Finding Past Conversations

  1. Navigate to Advisors
  2. Click History in the top right
  3. Search by keyword, advisor, or date range

Continuing a Conversation

Click any past conversation to resume where you left off. The advisor maintains full context.

Exporting Conversations

Export conversations for record-keeping:

  1. Open the conversation
  2. Click the Export button
  3. Choose format (PDF, Markdown, or text)

Custom Advisors

Enterprise plans can create custom advisors:

Defining a Custom Advisor

  1. Navigate to Settings > Advisors
  2. Click Create Custom Advisor
  3. Configure:
    • Name and description
    • Specialization prompt - Define the advisor's expertise
    • Knowledge scope - Which data types to access
    • Tool access - Which skills to enable

Custom advisors work well for:

  • Agronomist clone - Encapsulate your trusted advisor's approach
  • SOP expert - Answer questions about your specific procedures
  • Landlord reporter - Generate landowner-friendly summaries
  • Compliance specialist - Focus on your specific certifications

Best Practices

For Crop Questions

Include:

  • Specific field or location
  • Growth stage or date
  • Symptoms observed (with photos if possible)
  • Recent weather or applications

For Equipment Issues

Include:

  • Equipment ID or description
  • Symptoms (sounds, behaviors, error codes)
  • Recent usage or maintenance
  • Operating conditions

For Cattle Health

Include:

  • Animal ID or description
  • Symptoms and timeline
  • Recent treatments or changes
  • Pen or pasture location

Privacy & Security

  • Conversations are stored securely
  • No data is shared with other organizations

  • Available in Settings > Audit Log
